The Embassy of the North Sea is an open, experimental platform grounded in a set of core principles: diversity of perspectives, care, clarity, long-term commitment, and continuity. Since 2019, the Embassy has been developed by a collective comprising of a three-member board and organizational team, an extensive network of designers, scientists, and artists, several thematic working groups, and a broad range of stakeholders, including policymakers. Participants are affiliated with a wide array of institutions, such as the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS), NGO’s including Doggerland Foundation, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, and universities in Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Tilburg, Groningen, and Wageningen.
